The People Behind This Guide

A small, independent team that remembers what the first evening in a scout hall felt like.

Why we wrote it

Between us we have spent decades as Cubs, Guides, Explorers, section leaders and group trustees. Again and again, we met parents and new volunteers who were keen but quietly lost. The official handbooks are thorough; they are just not always written for someone on day one. So we set out to write the gentle walk-through we wished we had been handed.

How we work

Every route is drafted in plain language, then read by someone with no Scouting background. If they stumble on a word, we explain it or remove it. Dates and names are checked against published histories and the public pages of national and world organisations. When something differs by country, we say so.

We review each page at least once a year and correct mistakes as soon as readers point them out.
